The 2nd Annual Digital Learning Show is a 2 day initiative being hosted in Riyadh, the capital city of the Kingdom, to bring to you thought provoking and insightful keynote presentations and collaborative and interactive panel discussions along with learned experiences shared with the support of case studies to help understand the role of technologies in reshaping and revolutionizing the way we learn and teach. This by invitation only premium event brings together over 250 key decision makers and stakeholders from the largest universities, public schools, private schools and corporations from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia along with 25 of the most innovative solution providers from across the world, coming together to discuss how technological innovations are now reshaping learning and education. Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 (the “Vision”) and the National Transformation Program (“NTP”) which flows from it set out an ambitious road-map for education reform in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The success of the Vision depends in large measure on reforms in the education system generating a better basis for employment of young individuals in the country.

Dr. Haifa Jamal Al-Lail is the President of Effat University, Jeddah Saudi Arabia. She was awarded a PhD in Public Policy from the University of Southern California. Before joining Effat University in 1998, she served as the first Dean of Girls’ Campus in King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Haifa is a distinguished leader, respected academic, renowned advocate of youth engagement, and author of several articles; having also delivered many keynote speeches on women’s education in the Middle East, women and change, entrepreneurship and business. Dr. Haifa is a winner of the 1000 Women for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005. She is also the recipient of many awards such as the Innovation Award, Saudi Sayidaty, Queen Effat’s Distinction Award, Leading Woman CEO, Distinguished Arab Woman Award, World Family Summit Award, and the Distinguished Arabian Woman Award. Dr. Haifa continues to work towards enhancing women’s education throughout Saudi Arabia.

Prof. Hussam Ramadan is a Professor and Vice President of Al Yamamah University. He holds the primary leadership responsibilities for planning, implementing, and coordinating the educational programs at YU. He also leads the quality and academic accreditation team at YU. He is a former Dean of the College of Computer and Information Sciences, King Saud University, Riyadh. He also worked as Advisor and Director General of Planning at the Ministry of Higher Education, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he was officially responsible with his team for the substantial task of planning for higher education in the Kingdom. He also served on the Board of Trustees of several major private Saudi universities, and led and was part of many IT and academic consulting teams to The Saudi government and private sector clients. He is a professor of Information Systems with research interests in the areas of parallel and distributed simulation, distributed and cloud computing and modeling and simulation theory. He was awarded the 2012 Professional Award in Engineering by the J. B. Speed School of Engineering, University of Louisville. He is a senior member of IEEE and SCS.

Maurice de Hond (1947) studied Human Geography at the University of Amsterdam, where he also learned programming computers. He is the foremost election poller in the Netherlands. He wrote a book in 1995 “Thanks to the speed of light” about the revolution which internet would mean for all categories of business and society. Since 2012 he is active with educational reform, inspired by the fact that he noticed that schools for his daughter born in 2009 were still the same as schools for his elder sons who were born in the eighties. He founded the Steve JobsSchools. Tech Insider named it 1 of the 13 most innovative schools in the world. Many visitors from all over the world are visiting the schools in the Netherlands and De Hond is asked by many congresses all over the world to give keynote speeches and workshops about this school model and his vision.

She is a member of several councils and committees such as “King Abdullah International Dialogue Center” and “Mecca Innovation Award Committee”.
